Seequent Geoscience Data Management Report 2020
Your single source of truth
The next level of collaboration
Central gives multidisciplinary teams a space to collaborate in the cloud. Whether you’re a geologist, geophysicist, engineer, manager, or stakeholder – everyone can keep abreast of project changes as they happen. Central is your shared workspace wherever you are in the world, making projects more accessible, shareable and collaborative, with all new visualisation capability.
Streamline workflows by dividing up a master model by location or specialty. Each member can focus on their individual section, experiment, and be peer reviewed without impacting others.
Once approved, their updates can be instantly pulled back into the master model – giving the whole team the latest insights.
Central is cloud hosted, so even remote teams have instant access to project files and can manage who has permission to access them.
Interactive visualisation in the cloud
See from the same perspective with Seequent’s interactive web visualisation. Easily share your project from the Central Portal with colleagues & stakeholders – they can open and interact with it directly in a web browser, wherever they are and with no training required.
Access all project data and history in 3D via the Cloud and interrogate it using intuitive tools. Control and manage access with detailed permissions. Experience a shared view, collaborate better and make faster progress together.
From field geologists, to engineers, to head office staff – everyone can access and see the latest version of project files and models.
Easily navigate a complete timeline of a project’s revisions. Understand the history of when and why decisions were made, view past annotations and conversations, and visually compare versions of your model.
Onboard new members quickly with detailed records of the project’s evolution. And, if a team member leaves, you’ll retain their insights.
Share objects, such as geological models across projects, enabling all relevant technical teams to access data for their work. Leverage shared knowledge to make better decisions across all projects.
Work with the files you need
Seequent’s Data Room is an open platform to store, share, and view an audit trail for any file type.
Import drillholes, points, polylines and structural data quickly from the Data Room into Leapfrog and develop a richer, current 3D geological model. Outputs from Oasis montaj, Target, VOXI and GM-SYS3D can be saved to Central and used in Leapfrog via a common workflow.
Central Browser has direct integrations with key partners, including IMDEXHUB-IQ™ which allows you to visualise 3D drill hole data in real time.
Engage a wider audience with progress on your project
Transform how you engage with all stakeholders on a project with a new capability to embed and share 3D scenes of your model publicly! Whether you need to engage a wider project stakeholder group for faster decisions or communicate project progress with the general public, you can now make it happen through sharing a simple public link.
Make The Most Informed Decisions
Dynamic Model Updates
Be instantly notified when mesh files used in your model are updated in Central – and pull them in. Meshes hosted in Central are dynamically linked to Leapfrog, placing the most current file at your fingertips.
Never miss an update with real-time notifications via app or email. Tag colleagues using @mentions when you make a change or send a link to view new 3D model updates, ensuring everyone in your team is always up to date. Easily keep team communication alive and request input from colleagues across time zones and locations.
Easy stakeholder visualisation
Share your Central project with stakeholders with easy web visualisation. Simply share the model in the web, and anyone in the team can view, investigate and interrogate the model in a simple user interface.
Visually Compare Versions
Overlay the changes between any two models in your project’s timeline to see exactly how meshes and objects have evolved.
Stakeholders on any team can easily view, navigate, and annotate 3D geological models in Central. Updates to models, project progress, and resource estimations are immediately available to everyone in the team, from management to those on the ground.
Access Project Data Anywhere
Central is hosted in a secure Microsoft Azure cloud environment. Team members can access files, collaborate, post and view instant project updates from anywhere with an internet connection.
Don’t shift through emails. Discuss models and offer expertise within your model using annotations. Attach documents to the project for better traceability and add geotags to highlight features. Instead of screenshots, grab thumbnails that link directly into your project.
Spotty connection? No problem
Only project changes are uploaded and downloaded in Central, not the entire master model. Data is transferred in small chunks to overcome weak internet connections. If signal is lost during an update, data transfer will simply pause and resume once reconnected.
Staged Approval Processes
Move projects through your organisation’s processes using project stages. Assign colours to easily identify stages in the project history, making it easy to view and report progress.
New Features 2022
Engage an even wider audience than ever before. To share your insights with anyone, simply select the scene of interest generated in Central and change the permission setting to public.
The version you see in 3D will be the one that is shared or select another to show a different version. Once set to Public, you can simply copy the public link to share.
Anything that you share in the scene will be available in a public version of Central’s web visualisation.
If removing public access on a scene is required, simply switch it back to private.
Further enhance audience engagement by embedding your scene on a website or in applications that support IFrames. Simply copy the embed link and use this in your site.
Section lines on the Slice plane
When viewing your model on a slice plane Central now supports the ability to view the section as a plane and line work. Use the hide and show faces button to remove surfaces and the fill slice option for the line work.
