Introduzione in Italiano
GEO-SLOPE sviluppa e commercializza
GeoStudio
è disponibile in quattro versioni diverse per rispondere a
al meglio a ogni tipo di esigenza. Inoltre i software inclusi
in GeoStudio possono essere acquistati anche come pacchetti
singoli.
GeoStudio
2007 is a suite of applications for geotechnical and geo-environmental
modeling. It includes the following software products:
SLOPE/W for slope stability
analysis
SEEP/W for groundwater seepage
analysis
SIGMA/W for stress-deformation
analysis
QUAKE/W for dynamic earthquake
analysis
TEMP/W for thermal analysis
CTRAN/W for contaminant
transport analysis
AIR/W for air flow analysis
VADOSE/W for vadose zone and soil cover analysis
With GeoStudio 2007, you can analyze almost any problem you
encounter in your geotechnical, geo-environmental, civil and
mining engineering projects.
Eight Integrated Applications
GeoStudio applications are integrated, allowing you to use
the analysis results from one product in another one. This
unique and powerful feature greatly expands the types of problems
you can analyze. For example, use SIGMA/W to establish initial
static stress conditions for a QUAKE/W dynamic earthquake
analysis. Then use SEEP/W to dissipate the excess pore-water
pressures calculated by QUAKE/W. Finally, use the resulting
pore-water pressure and stress distributions in a SLOPE/W
stability analysis.
Purchase All Products or One at a Time
You can purchase all eight GeoStudio applications for a special
package price. Alternatively, you can obtain each application
as required for different projects. For example, you might
initially purchase SLOPE/W for a stability analysis, and then
later acquire SEEP/W when you wish to consider groundwater
seepage. This flexibility means you only pay for different
analysis types as you require them.
Cost-Saving Bundles

These
are just some of the new features you will get in the free
update from an older version 7 to version 7.1:
- The
Spatial Mohr Coulomb material model in SLOPE/W allows unit
weight, cohesion and phi to vary across the geometry as
a function of x and y. Additionally, the Shear/Normal Fn
and S=f(overburden) material models now allow unit weight
to be defined as a spatial function.
- The
weight of ponded water is applies automatically in SLOPE/W
wherever there is excess PWP on the ground surface.
- New
transient stability analysis in SLOPE/W when getting stresses
or PWP from finite element models.
- Spatial
initial conditions such as PWP, temperature, air pressure,
concentration and gas concentration can be defined across
the geometry as a function of x and y.
- A new
Draw Contours command in DEFINE lets you view the defined
parameter values that SOLVE will use for pore-water pressure,
cohesion, phi and unit weight.
- A new
Dynamic Deformation analysis in SIGMA/W lets you analyze
post earthquake transient plastic deformation. Use results
from a QUAKE/W dynamic analysis (or SIGMA/W analysis) to
compute the deformations due to nodal forces generated from
the incremental element stresses.
- Search
example files, pdfs and movies from the Start Page.
- See
thumbnails of GeoStudio files in Windows Explorer.
- Generate
a report from any analysis to summarize the analysis definition.
- Save
contour settings with the Draw Contours command, much like
Draw Graph.
- Sketch
Text can be restricted to a particular analysis.
- Several
improvements to Add-Ins, such as accessing data from any
other analysis, additional field types, and user-defined
parameters which can be contoured and graphed.
- Display
material names on every region.
It's a
FREE upgrade for licensed GeoStudio 2007 users!
The
power of GeoStudio is in the tight integration between each
of its applications.
- Pore-water
pressures computed by SEEP/W, SIGMA/W or QUAKE/W can be
used in a SLOPE/W analysis.
- SIGMA/W
static stresses or QUAKE/W dynamic stresses can be used
in a SLOPE/W stability analysis.
- SEEP/W
pore-water pressures can be used in a SIGMA/W consolidation
analysis.
- SEEP/W
pore-water pressures can be used in a CTRAN/W density-dependent
contaminant transport analysis.
- Excess
pore-water pressures computed by QUAKE/W can be dissipated
over time in a SEEP/W transient seepage analysis.
- Static
stress conditions computed by SIGMA/W can be specified
as the initial stresses in a QUAKE/W dynamic analysis.

When you purchase a license for
any GeoStudio 2007 products you also receive a copy of the
corresponding Engineering Methodology book. These books are
not software manuals but full-length books that discuss why
and how to model. They do not describe how to use the commands
in the software or which buttons to click - that is provided
in detail in the Online Help. Instead they are about thinking:
how to think before, during and after setting up and solving
a model.

The
GeoStudio Student Edition is a free product designed as an
aid to learning geotechnical numerical modeling. It is an
ideal teaching tool for university professors both at the
undergraduate and graduate levels.
The software contains limited versions of SLOPE/W, SEEP/W,
SIGMA/W, QUAKE/W, TEMP/W, CTRAN/W, AIR/W and VADOSE/W.

The
GeoStudio Basic Edition is a feature-limited version of seven
products: SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W, QUAKE/W, TEMP/W, CTRAN/W
and AIR/W. The Basic Edition is ideal for use in routine engineering
practice for the analysis of problems with limited geometric
complexity. While primarily intended for analyzing the stability
of natural and man-made earth slopes, you can also use GeoStudio
Basic for the analysis of confined and unconfined steady-state
seepage problems, for the analysis of linear-elastic settlement
and stress distribution problems, for the tracking of contaminants
within ground water flow and for the analysis of freeze-thaw
problems.
